65 roses

“65 roses” comes from the story of a little boy with cystic fibrosis who misheard his mom talking about his CF over the phone. She kept saying it over and over, but he heard it as “65 roses”. Purple is the color of cystic fibrosis awareness. To anyone with CF, a purple rose is more than just a flower, it is a symbol. It symbolizes hope and unrelenting optimism in the face of the thorn bush that is this brutal disease.

  1. I don’t think I will ever hear cystic fibrosis again. I will hear 65 roses and think of you and your powerful courage.
